Development

Social housebuilding rates are at their lowest for 25 years, so the Government only wants to deal with housing associations that deliver on their promises. In its first two years, our consortium has spent £37m of subsidy on delivering 1300 modern properties in Berkshire, Bristol, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Somerset and Wiltshire.

As a result, we were awarded £50m to provide 14 affordable homes every week. In common with other alliances, much of the programme will be completed by working with major developers such as Barratt, Taylor Wimpey, Redrow, Galliford Try and Crest Nicholson.

But a quarter of the programme is already being delivered by four regional contractors - Leadbitter, Rok, Pearce Group, and EG Carter. By working closely on an ongoing basis, we are able to share information and techniques to speed up the building process, while identifying new opportunities to add value along the way.
