Dig marks beginning of new very sheltered housing

28.05.2008

In recent months work has started on Brunelcare’s new very sheltered housing development for older people living with dementia.

Helen  Joy explains, “The development, which is based off Queens Road, Bishopsworth, consists of 28 one and 38 two-bedroom apartments. It will offer communal facilities including a restaurant, laundry, shop, internet café, assisted bathrooms and a therapy room. Our expertise in older people’s services, and keen attention to detail, has been used in the design of the tailored services that will look to reach 600 people per year.

“The development has used Brunelcare’s ABC Centre in Hengrove and Colliers Gardens in Fishponds as benchmarks, and has taken learning from other schemes around the UK.”
