About Sovereign Development Consortium

The SDC is an alliance of eight general needs landlords and specialist housing providers based around the south and south-west of England. Each provide a broad range of skills and strengths. By collaborating together, we can cut procurement costs, achieve efficiencies, bid more effectively for funding and share best practice.

		Sovereign Housing Association Established in 2005 to coordinate development, finance and business support activities for all subsidiaries. Sovereign is the lead partner of the Consortium, and manages nearly 22,000 homes with a development programme of approximately 850 units a year.

		Ability Housing Association With over thirty years’ experience, Ability provide housing and support for physically and mentally disabled, with nearly 400 homes in London and the South East. Contact: Stephen Hurrell

		Advance UK Providing small-scale residential homes, part-buy homes and community support for people with learning difficulties and mental health problems, throughout central and southern England.

		Brunelcare A Bristol-based specialist in homes for older people. Brunelcare own nearly 1,100 sheltered properties in 30 schemes, in the West of England.

		Cottsway Housing Association Set up in 2001 for the transfer of council homes in West Oxfordshire, Cottsway has 3,600 homes and a development programme of 70 a year.

		Housing Solutions Group Nearly 4,000 homes across five counties in south east England, with a development programme of 150 homes a year and £50 million reprovisioning programme for care homes.

		Saxon Weald Established in 1999 for the transfer of Horsham District Council's stock. Saxon Weald now have more than 5,000 homes, operating across three counties: West Sussex, East Sussex and Hampshire. Contact: Philip Tunnicliffe

		Solon South West Housing Association Limited A general needs provider based in central Bristol, with nearly 1,200 homes across the city and in neighbouring boroughs. Solon South West specialises in managing homes in cities and urban developments with a development programme of 100 per year.
