Gold for Saxon Weald
03.11.2011
Horsham-based housing association Saxon Weald has been awarded gold by Investors in People, the UK's leading people management standard.
Investors in People is a business improvement tool designed to help all kinds of organisations develop performance through their people. Only 1.5% of organisations with Investors in People accreditation achieve gold standard. Saxon Weald is one of only eight housing associations to receive such an award.
Linda Kawycz, Saxon Weald’s Human Resources Manager, said: ‘I am very proud of this achievement. It recognises the hard work of our HR team and the excellence of our staff development programme.’
The Investors in People assessor, who spent two week scrutinising the company and interviewing its staff, noted the number of ‘home grown’ managers, who had moved up through the company.
He said that people clearly enjoyed working at Saxon Weald: ‘Many referred to their experience as “being like a family”… [with] a number saying it was the best organisation that they had worked for.’
The assessor concluded that: ‘The culture of, and the drive for, continuous improvement is a key focus that is at the heart of everything that Saxon Weald places its actions on as a direction for the future.’
