Anglian open up more cost saving opportunities

30.07.2008

The Sovereign Development Consortium are continuing to build on their reputation for establishing best value purchasing agreements with suppliers of key components.

This time Anglian Commercial have been selected to provide the supply and installation service for all pvc-u windows in new homes built by the Consortium, with an energy efficiency rating that fully supports the Consortium’s requirements for its standard house types and the Code for Sustainable Homes.

“This is an excellent opportunity for both organisations”, said Mark Jarrett, SDC’s Head of Strategic Procurement. “As with other projects, engaging fully with the asset management and maintenance teams of the various RSLs was integral to the process, and by doing this, we are not only supporting their business plan requirements, it also provides opportunities for their refurbishment programmes to tap into the arrangement. And this all makes it an extremely attractive proposition to companies like Anglian who are then able to offer extremely competitive prices”.

Residents from a number of the member organisations were also on the Selection Panel and provided a welcome contribution in terms of addressing issues around fuel poverty, maintenance and installation teams.
