Dorset

Dorset has seen more than 88,000 homes built between 1976-97, but the build rate fell by 40% after a peak in 1990.

Two thirds of all development has been in the Bournemouth conurbation, including Poole and Christchurch.

Today, Dorset has to complete 53000 homes by 2011, but with 7000 new people migrating into the county every year, it’s difficult to keep pace.

Sovereign Development Consortium owns more than 3000 properties in Dorset, and is concentrating its efforts on the £30m regeneration of the Somerford estate in Christchurch. This builds on our regeneration expertise in the Bristol and Plymouth New Deal areas.

Additionally, our framework contractors Rok are working on seven new family homes for rent in Christchurch, while we also provided 11 homes for part-buy part-rent to locals in Sturminster Newton.
