Gloucestershire is well on the way to achieving its 50,000 target for newbuild by 2011. Although most of the building is concentrated in and around Cheltenham and Gloucester, there’s a lot of activity in South Gloucestershire district, which has increased its affordability quota from 30 to 40%. District planners also stipulate that 7% of newbuild should be for wheelchair-friendly homes, something SDC would like to see in many more areas.
